Cabbage / grapefruit diet or monodiet for proper nutrition

Of course, eating cabbage or grapefruit is not harmful to health, but only in moderation. Eating only one type of food and giving up all the others leads to a serious deficiency of nutrients. The belief that, for example, grapefruit helps burn fat is wrong. Fruit is really able to quench hunger and stimulate the intestines, lower cholesterol, but has nothing to do with fat. Citrus contains acids that are not suitable for those who have problems with the gastrointestinal tract. The effectiveness of the grapefruit diet is due to reduced carbohydrate intake. Due to their absence, the body begins to burn fat to produce energy. This is what leads to weight loss on similar diets with one product.

Monodiet is not an option. Food should be varied and all you need to get the desired shape - watch the portion sizes. Fractional nutrition helps to control appetite: eat small portions 3-5 times a day, leaving room for healthy snacks (nuts, cheese, fruit).

Is a drinking diet useful?

The basis of the drinking diet is the use of liquid or semi-liquid products (cereals, broths, jelly, soups, cream soups, smoothies, juices), the daily caloric content of which should not exceed 1200 kcal. Liquid food really speeds up metabolism, reduces the caloric content of food. However, the refusal of solid food disrupts the digestive system, leads to tooth decay, and threatens exacerbation of chronic diseases (gastritis, ulcers). Regular drinking provokes edema due to excess fluid, weakness and decreased performance due to lack of protein. I do not know of any cases where meat products have been ground in a blender to replenish protein stores while on such a diet.

Proper nutrition and good health are a long process that requires common sense and sports. You can not reduce calories to a level lower than the usual 1200 calories a day. This will give a more tangible result than any diet you have heard of. A balanced diet help control health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and some cancers.
